Flying back to San Diego from an inspiring trip to Hawaii, Wade doodled a few sketches. The elements of these sketches: perfect waves, plumeria flowers, palm trees, fish hook, tiki faces, etc form a dramatic mosaic that will keep the Islands fresh in your mind.
Wade Koniakowsky, one of the nation’s leading ocean-inspired artists, began painting at the age of six and started surfing before he was 12. By blending these two passions, he has gained worldwide recognition for his oil paintings of tropical interpretations. Wade’s signature paintings can be seen in movies, television shows, and international surf competitions such as The North Shore Vans Triple Crown, and most recently the 2018 Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. Wade has been a regular contributor of art for ROXY sponsored events and his designs currently adorn the custom surfboards that decorate Billabong stores nationwide.
Because we have a deep concern for the health of our oceans, we contribute to 5% of our sales to Reboot Our Reefs, a collaboration between REUZBL in the US and Ocean Gardener in Bali working together to expand Ocean Gardener’s reef restoration program and educating people on the important role coral reefs play on our Earth’s environment.
